Wine Tastings With Friends: Pinot Gris

Posted By Don Sumner on Oct 20, 2014 |

Here’s the first post in our Wine Tastings With Friends series. (Click here for the other tasting parties of Rosé and Pinot Noir)

As cooler weather approaches, indoor activities start to take precedence over outdoor grilling, beach parties, and picnics. One way to create a lively wine and food pairing event with friends is to host a wine tasting party.

First, choose a varietal. Next, choose foods that will pair well with the wine. Then, send invitations out with varietal and food ideas for your guests to bring, and prepare for fun.

Tastings with friends are a great way to learn more about a particular varietal and the foods that make it sing.

Pinot Gris + Seafoods

In our example—a Pinot Gris tasting—each guest will bring a brown-bagged Pinot Gris and seafood dish (perhaps you could bring our Sumner Vineyards Pinot Gris!). They can go to your eVite page to RSVP and get ideas for seafood recipes.

Make sure your glasses are sparkling, the sideboard is loaded with plates, napkins, and flatware, and that there’s a fire or candles lit.

Enjoy!
